Shirl's haiku for the week . . .
I live, I am now
in awe of the universe
it is my playground.
Why avoid or hide?
Reality still comes to
haunt one to the grave.
Narrative of life,
quick turning,
unforgiving
defies all
rewrites.
Beauty beyond words,
Feelings of the heart bestowed,
Love's timeless language.
Everything seen
. . . felt
reminds me of our
days there
across mighty
pond.
Following the brooke always near food,
refreshment nature's whim provides.
Blind by
stubborn will,
you're never
wrong, you swear.
Lost . . . a chance to love.
Oh wonderous
day,
where have you
gone, a thousand
things I could
have done.
Beneath the shell is
flesh so tender, challenging
all to venture in.
Yesterday's moments
Today's memories, lost but
never forgotten.
