Healing Waters Journal Index

Welcome to our website!

You are on the website for writer/journalist/film news correspondent Shirl A. Steward and the new home of the Santa Fe Film Connection.   Here you'll find articles about local film festivals and the film production industry in New Mexico.   You may also find a few articles about other festivals done by friends or myself.

As in the case of many creative people, I became enchanted by the film industry back in high school where I belonged to the school's acting club and wrote a short three act play which was actually later produced.  Then, in the early 80's when I started dating actor, Terrence Gehr (T.G) Cody, my interest really accelerated.  Twenty years later I have retained both my fascination with film and my close friendship with T.G. who, by the way, will (hopefully) be co-authoring a screenplay about our times together.   (Eventually, perhaps you'll see a page here for T.G.)

Anyway, the film industry is something that just gets in your blood and stays there.  It is an amazing fever that never quits 'infecting' you.   I'm ONLY 'the writer' and not an actor these days, but I do hope that, through my writing, I can bring lots of pleasurable moments to the screen for children of all ages.

Okay, that said, unfortunately I have to also say this . . . please bare with us.   I have been doing a lot of other things and have been neglecting this page.  Though,I'm still working for the New Mexican newspaper!!!!  LOL

Sincerely,

Shirl A. Steward
